My Reset Routine

On days where you feel meh, you need motivation and you just want to feel fresh and feel positive – this is my entire reset routine.

Make a Mood Boosting Playlist

Create your own mood-booster playlist. Fill it with the songs that make you happy and motivated, a no-skip type of playlist. Listen with your wireless noise-cancelling earphones/headphones while you reset. here’s mine: self-healing playlist

Organize, Tidy & Clean Your Space

Your environment can play a huge role in your mood. A tidy and clean space can feel so cleansing for your mind.

To tidy daily, go through room by room and put your belongings back where they belong. then, clean room by room. Open curtains and windows. Dust, wipe down surfaces, and then sweep (and mop) the floors.

A few times throughout the year, review your belongings, choose what you no longer need and reorganise things. donate the things you no longer need.

Digital Organisation

Your digital space is just as important to clean and tidy.

On your computer (or laptop) :

  • Organise your files in labelled folders and an easy-to-follow directory.
  • Clear your desktop of misplaced files
  • Clear your ‘downloads’ folder
  • Back up your computer
  • Set a desktop background that inspires you.
  • Clean the physical shell of your computer, dust the keyboard and wipe the screen.

On your mobile:

  • Back up your camera roll
  • Delete images & videos you no longer need
  • Clear your screenshots folder
  • Tap on notifications
  • Review your app subscriptions
  • Remove apps you no longer use
  • Refresh your home screen theme

On your email:

  • Mark as read
  • Reply to emails that need to be dealt with
  • Unsubscribe from emails you don’t open

On your social media:

  • Unfollow accounts you don’t interact with
  • Clear your saved posts
  • Reply to DMs that need to be dealt with
  • Clear your drafts

Self Care

After resetting your physical & digital spaces, it’s time to take care of yourself & your mind. You can keep it very simple – showering, hair & skincare, and getting dressed.

Don’t forget to give yourself some time to relax. here are some ideas:

  • Meditate
  • Go for a walk
  • Listen to your favourite podcasts
  • Write in your journal
  • Eat something yummy

Use a planner

When you’re feeling overwhelmed by endless to-do lists or unfinished projects, it’s hard to your thoughts organised. Using a physical planner, or digital planners like Notion and Structured can help organise your thoughts and create a plan of attack to tick things off. It can feel like a huge relief and reset to simply write out all the things weighing on your mind. Start by:

  • Write out tasks that need to be done
  • Rearrange in priority order
  • Break tasks down into smaller steps that are easy to follow

I use both Notion & Structured apps simultaneously. With Notion, I can write in my daily journal, keep track of my book list, then plan out my content (for social media, blog and YouTube), and keep track of my bucket list & goals, you name it.

Structured is my go-to daily planner. I use it almost every day to keep track of what needs to be done and it has a built-in focus timer so it helps me to stay focused and organized.
