It doesn’t matter how many times you have seen the sun go down, to witness its light slowly disappear beneath the horizon is pure bliss. Even city sunsets make the cut. The picture above was taken a while before I left my dance practice, just as the late afternoon and evening transition was about to happen.
Sunsets are mesmerizing. Just the colors in all their natural beauty and the way they blend together like a symphony in the sky. The natural world serving as a teacher of how color should be used, how they should be mixed. Sunsets are a masterful art. They are beautiful no matter where you see them and there are billions of variations. What amazes me most is how they can make you feel.
Sunsets for me are divine moments that act as a stimulus for gratitude. No matter what kind of day I’ve had, I try to mark the occasion by pausing to reflect on all the good in my life. I can also see another day on the horizon, a reminder that a fresh start awaits and that anything could happen.
There’s a sunset every single day, and they’re absolutely free. They’re another one of life’s simple pleasures, no two are ever exactly alike. So don’t miss so many of them. Be thankful for the beauty of it all.
That’s what sunset means for me.
what does it mean for you?
